The Valmarina Estate
This estate, which extends over an area of 27 hectares, is part of the Bergamo Municipality andparticipating to the Urban Vineyard Association (www.urbanvineyards.org). The land is partlywoodland and partly vineyard. The vineyards were completely replanted starting in 2009, following modern cultivation techniquesand making the various stages of work fully mechanized.Today, the vineyards cover an area of about 5 hectares, located in a natural amphitheater of highlandscape value, easily recognizable to those who travel along Bergamo's cycle and pedestrian paththat crosses the property, from which one can enjoy a splendid view.
The vine rows are cultivated on the slope of a clay-limestone hill, in a cool valley but facing southand sheltered from the winds, with optimal exposure to sunlight and fresh air.The rows are planted with a spacing of 220 x 80 cm.The grape yield per hectare is limited to 60 quintals.
Today, the vineyards cover an area of approximately 5 hectares, set within a natural amphitheater of high landscape value and easily recognizable to those who travel along the Bergamo cycling and pedestrian path that crosses the property, from which a splendid panorama can be enjoyed. The vine rows are trained along the slope of a clay-limestone hill, in a cool valley yet south-facing and sheltered from the winds, with optimal exposure to sunlight and air. The planting layout is 220 cm by 80 cm. Grape yield per hectare is limited to 60 quintals. Types of vines: The estate features a significant plot of Pinot Noir, originally cultivated in Burgundy and Champagne; the biotype selected for planting in Valmarina produces high quality both when vinified as a red wine and when made into a white base for sparkling wine with a rich bouquet. The red wine is produced from Merlot grapes, well known for single-varietal vinification. Among the white varieties, Riesling Renano and Riesling Italico are grown, producing a fresh, floral, and aromatic white wine intended for long bottle aging and certainly not a simple vintage white. Another white variety is Chardonnay, suitable for both still and sparkling vinification. Among the whites, we have also planted PIWI varieties (an acronym of the German pilzwiderstandsfähig, meaning "fungus-resistant vines"): Solaris and Souvignier Gris. PIWI varieties are still not sufficiently well known, yet they best reflect our philosophy of producing wines while minimizing phytosanitary treatments and offering a distinctive bouquet; they are vinified as single varieties to enhance their character. Their particular strength lies in their limited need for treatments, achieved by crossing vines that preserve organoleptic qualities while developing lasting resistance to fungal diseases, in line with a shared commitment to organic principles. Solaris is considered an exceptionally resistant vine and produces intense, fresh, and aromatic white wines. Souvignier Gris produces long, persistent wines with marked acidity. The Lombardy Region has included these two varieties in the list of vines eligible for DOC or IGT designation, and we are currently awaiting the Province of Bergamo to adopt the regional regulation; as of today, due to bureaucratic and sector-related resistance, they are not yet authorized locally, and therefore we can only market them as table wines without specific designation. Nevertheless, we firmly believe that cultivating PIWI varieties represents a true mark of quality and an ever-growing commitment to environmental sustainability. Although our estate is not yet certified organic, it has always been managed according to organic principles, respecting the particular characteristics of the area where the vineyards are located. The wine produced is marketed under the Valmarina label. Our wine therefore represents not only a high-quality product, but also a genuine testimony to the history and culture of the Moroni family and the Bergamo territory, offering wine lovers a unique and unforgettable experience rooted in sustainable agriculture and the finest Italian tradition.

Originally cultivated in Burgundy and Champagne, the biotype selected for planting in Valmarina produces high quality both when vinified as a red wine and when made into a white base for sparkling wine, resulting in bubbles with a rich bouquet.

The Red Wines
The red wine is produced from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, well known for single-varietal vinification or crafted as a classic Bordeaux-style blend.
The White Wines
Among the white wines, Riesling Renano and Riesling Italico are grown, producing a fresh, floral, and aromatic white that undergoes long bottle aging and is certainly not a simple vintage wine. Another white variety is Chardonnay, which is suitable for both still and sparkling vinification. Additionally, the whites include PIWI varieties, Solaris and Souvignier Gris..
